Dick Whittington

The legendary Lord Mayor of medieval London did exist, and was probably not a poor apprentice (with a black cat) at all, but the son of a rich West of England squire. He is made a supporting character in LONDON's 'London Bridge'.




 

 

 

Did You Know?
John Milton, best known as the author of the interminable Paradise Lost, was also capable of writing short poems - one of the loveliest being, "Song on May Morning". Look it up!
