Dick Whittington

The legendary Lord Mayor of medieval London did exist, and was probably not a poor apprentice (with a black cat) at all, but the son of a rich West of England squire. He is made a supporting character in LONDON's 'London Bridge'.

Did You Know?
The award for shortest reign in history goes to…Louis-Antoine Duke of Angoulême of France ! Louis XIX ruled for approximately 20 minutes – the time between when his father Charles X of France signed abdication papers in 1830 and the moment he too wielded a quill, signing away his rights to the throne.
