Mrs Vanderbilt

Alva Vanderbilt, the mother of the lovely Consuelo Vanderbilt, whom she forced to marry the Duke of Marlborough when Consuelo was actually in love with Winthrop Rutherfurd, is described by the fictional Hetty Master in the 'Old England' chapter of New York.
