Pocahontas

In an attempt to promote their American colony, the ailing Virginia Company not only paid preachers to urge their congregations to emigrate but, in 1615, brought the Indian princess Pocahontas on a publicity tour to London, where she died. See LONDON 'God's Fire'.

Early in June 1937, in a chateau near Tours, the Duke of Windsor – formerly Edward VIII – married Wallis Simpson seven months after abdicating from the throne. None of his brothers attended the wedding.
