Washington

George Washington makes his first appearance in Rutherfurd's New York in 1776, in the 'War' chapter, where he tries to rally his troops beside what would later be the site of the New York Public Library on Fifth Avenue. The story follows him during his days at Valley Forge and though to his presidency, which began in New York.
