Beaulieu

Beaulieu Abbey is one of England's best-known tourist attractions - the family seat of Lord Montagu of Beaulieu, and of the National Motor Museum. But it began its life eight centuries ago as an abbey of the sheep and cattle-farming Cistercian order of monks. The site occurs throughout THE FOREST, and is the scene of a romance between a monk and a Forest woman in 'Beaulieu'. (See also Bucklers Hard).
